Hancock, NH

Funding Sources:

The care of our cemeteries is funded from a variety of sources. Some older lots’ care is provided from perpetual care trust funds, while other lots’ care is funded through an expendable trust fund. The remaining sources of funds include fee income from services provided, and funds raised and appropriated for general municipal operations.

Care and Maintenance

The Town of Hancock Cemetery Trustees oversees the care and maintenance of three public cemeteries within the Town of Hancock. The Cemetery Custodian is responsible for the day-to-day care and maintenance, and works under the direction of the Cemetery Trustees.

To prevent damage to gravestones, any cleaning with chemicals or brushes of any kind is prohibited. Furthermore, to preserve the integrity of the monuments, rubbings are not allowed.

Current rules and regulations, adopted in 2021, may be found listed in this site’s submenu.
