You may use this list to find RPB members in Georgia who practice ethical breeding of their animals and provide proper housing and nutrition for their dogs. We encourage you to do your own research on the needs and characteristics of your chosen breed and the breed’s care requirements before you choose a breeder.

RPB members in Georgia must follow our Code of Ethics and provide a high standard of care for all their pets. Breeders in the state of Georgia must meet the following requirements:

In compliance with the Georgia Department of Agriculture, a Pet Dealer (breeder) is required to be licensed if they meet the following requirements: “ Anyone who sells, offers to sell, exchanges or offers for adoption dogs, cats, fish, reptiles or other animals customarily obtained as pets in this State. Dog breeders require a pet dealer’s license if they sell more than one litter in any twelve (12) month period or over 30 adult dogs in a 12 month period.”

If you meet the above requirements you are required to be registered with the Georgia Department of Agriculture as a Pet Dealer.

All of your breeding animals are required to be up to date with their vaccinations (canine and feline vaccinations and rabies vaccinations) and be registered with your county/council as required.
